I once found a faerie, dancin' on the leaves
It sang, oh, so softly, I fell to my knees
The words flowed to music like none that I
knew
My eyes danced in tears while it sang in the
dew
Dance to the water, Dance to
the sky,
Dance to the music, God left
in your eyes
Dance for the boy who's
cryin' inside
And when the tears end, I'll
dance in your eyes
When I wiped my eyes, the dance was done
There was no one around but the rain and the
sun
I went back every day for nearly a year
Then I promised myself I'd shed no more
tears
Dance to the water...
Now I'm an old man with more wisdom than
years
My son left his family and my grandson's in
tears
I told him the stories my grampa told me
But before I could finish, he jumped to his
feet
He said: " Grandad, your eyes, it's a faerie
I see
He's dancin' in tears on top of some leaves
He dances to water and he dances to the
skies
He dances to music, God left in your eyes."
Now I dance to the water...
